Of all the parts of a building, the roof is the most exposed to extreme heat and cold. By virtue of its special structure, Hebel constitutes a first class thermal insulator. The typical cellular structure of the Hebel roof panels contains small air bubbles which greatly slows the heat and cold transfer. No additional insulation is necessary. The roof finish can be applied directly to the Hebel roof panels.
In addition, Hebel roof panels offer good sound insulation because the Hebel surface absorbs the noise through its cellular structure. This comprises of numerous partly open cells. Hebel is non-flammable and is flame resistant. Its good water vapour permeability also allows for a comfortable internal temperature to be maintained. Although Hebel roof panels have fairly large dimensions, they are relatively light. This allows for large areas to be built in a short space of time whilst increasing construction efficiency. In some cases the low weight of the roof slabs allows the structure supporting the panels to be lightened.
With Hebel roof panels, almost all types of roof are possible to construct, from flat roofs to pitched roofs and even arched roofs.
