Installation: Tapered Edge Boards

Unique installation technique for NEW tapered edge wall boards.

1. Screw

Boards are cut with woodworking tools and fixed with Fermacell screws or suitable staples, with tapered edges touching. One-man-lift boards can be ordered tapered on all four edges. Offcuts can be tapered on site with a surform.

2. Tape

Either bed paper tape into a first layer of Fermacell Jointfiller or fix self–adhesive mesh Jointing Tape first and fill through the tape.

3. Fill

Fill over the Jointing Tape, ensuring the filler is pushed through the mesh to the back of the joint, together with any gaps or screw heads, with Fermacell Jointfiller. The boards are then ready to paint, tile or paper.

4. Squeege

For a “glass” finish, simply spread with ready mixed Fine Surface Treatment, squeegee the surface to remove excess, and wait 45 minutes. A perfect finish with no plastering.
