Attention to the environmental aspects of building materials continues to increase. The starting point for this is that the urban environment creates the optimal conditions for the health and welfare of humans. A significant precondition for healthy and sustainable construction is the use of building products that burden the environment as little as possible and have a favourable effect on health and the social climate. The term ‘sustainable building' characterises this very successfully. Building products must not emit any harmful substances and must burden the environment as little as possible in the entire cycle from the extraction of raw materials up to and including waste processing. Silka calcium silicate has various environmental and health-oriented aspects: the application, the extraction of the raw materials and the production process.
